Mama Mia! The Party
If you’ve still got a pair of platform boots or flares hanging around in your closet and fancy some toe-tapping tunes along with some amazing costumes, then Mama Mia! The Party is a great group night out. Join the cast at the iconic O2 Arena (which has been transformed into a Greek taverna) for a dinner show with a difference as the Mama Mia team brings the story to life just feet away from their guests.
With a central stage and actors weaving amongst the tables, you’ll be able to get up close to the stars of the show and feel like you’re part of the cast too, so make sure that you book your tickets as soon as your reservation at our suites in Shoreditch is confirmed to avoid disappointment.
To reach the O2 Arena from the M by Montcalm spa, head for the Tube at Old Street Station and hop on the Northern line which will have you at your destination in just under 25 minutes.
Hyde Park Spooktacular
If you’ll be bringing the little ones along for a stay at the M by Montcalm, then you can be sure that they’ll want to join in the fun at the Hyde Park Spooktacular which runs throughout October.
Featuring a spooky storyteller, a haunted trail that introduces children to the wonderful world of creepy crawlies in their natural habitat plus the opportunity to brew a magical potion using a selection of herbs and plants found growing in the lush park, this free event welcomes fancy dress outfits too. It’s a great way to get the kids into the spirit of the scariest time of the year.
Getting to Hyde Park from our suites in Shoreditch is straightforward too, so head to Old Street Station and take the Northern line. It will have you at the southern gates to the vast park in little over 20 minutes.
Oktoberfest in London
Expect to see lederhosen and oompah bands galore at the 2019 Oktoberfest as it rocks up in London for another sell-out event. The biggest beer appreciation event of the year, this annual meeting brings together beer lovers from all over the globe to sample the very best in German beers, schnitzel and sausages.
Complete with a number of invigorating oompah bands providing a musical backdrop and plenty of atmosphere to the proceedings, Oktoberfest in London is an excellent opportunity for adults over the age of eighteen to meet other beer fans from all over the world and to share a fantastic night of continental brews and live music.
This year, the event is being held at venues in both Camden and Brixton, so if you’ll be staying at the M by Montcalm from the end of September to the 19th October 2019, your closest Oktoberfest is situated a short 13-minute Tube ride away in Camden Town.
Well known for its buzzing atmosphere and eclectic mix of unusual shops, craft beer pubs and live music venues featuring up and coming musical talent, enjoy a visit to the M by Montcalm spa for a little pampering before heading off for a big night out in the city that you’ll never forget.
The Barking Stink: A Scented Heritage Exhibition
Part of the Totally Thames event that seeks to help visitors to London uncover a little more about the history of the iconic River Thames, The Barking Stink exhibition is a pungent and sensory event that takes a closer look (and smell) at the industrial heritage of the river.
Running up until the first week in November, visitors staying at the M by Montcalm can take a trip to Dagenham where they’ll find Valance House. It’s a fitting venue for this unusual event which tells the story of thriving fisheries, fizzy drinks factories and the unpleasant scent of sewage works that serviced the city.
To get to the exhibition, take the train from Shoreditch Fire Station located just a short stroll from the M by Montcalm. It will deliver you to Valance House Museum in just over an hour.
London Transport Museum
London is such a bustling city with so much to see and do that you might find yourself running out of time trying to cram everything in during your stay at our suites in Shoreditch; but for one night only this October, you can visit the London Transport Museum late into the evening freeing up more of your time to see everything else the city has to offer.
From 7pm to 10pm on the 10th October 2019, the museum is keeping the doors open for late-night visitors who wish to see a little more of London’s transport history. From climbing aboard a red Routemaster bus to a scavenger hunt around the extensive museum, this event is suitable for all ages and offers an immersive experience for visitors with an interest in trains, cars and buses.
These events have become increasingly popular over the last few years with many visitors choosing to visit the museum after dark for this immersive and exciting experience, so make sure that you pencil in a little time to head to the museum to see what all of the fuss is about.
The Tube is the best way of getting to the museum. It takes just 14-minutes to reach using the Piccadilly line from the hotel, so it’s a great after-dinner activity that the whole family will enjoy during their stay in the city.
