Ned’s Noodles

21 Pitfield Street, N1 6HB

Simple, honest food in clean and comfortable surroundings, Ned’s Noodles is a popular lunchtime haunt for locals looking for a quick and tasty bite to eat before returning to work. Specialising in wok-fried noodles with a variety of sauces, vegetables and meats, the soups are also well worth trying during your stay at our Old Street hotel as they come complete with tiny dumplings that are delicately flavoured and incredibly satisfying.

To reach Ned’s Noodles from the M Montcalm Shoreditch, you won’t need to go far as the restaurant is located just a short 8-minute walk away. There’s another location in Southbank.

The Dumpling Shack

Old Spitalfields Market, Brushfield St, Spitalfields, E1 6BG

Famous for handmade dumplings which feature flavours such as pork and leek and prawn and chilli, there are also several vegan menu options available so that all dietary requirements can be catered for.

You can also choose to enjoy your dumplings in the communal seating areas available at Spitalfields Market or get your dumplings to go if you want to eat back at your room at the M Montcalm Shoreditch.

Getting to the Dumpling Shack is easy, and you can either take the Tube from Old Street Station which takes roughly 5 minutes, or you can walk if you’re feeling a little more energetic. It will take you less than 20 minutes on foot.

To get to Yauatcha City, you can either take the bus, hail a black cab or walk – the City location is just 0.7 miles from our Old Street hotel.

Leong’s Legend

39 Gerrard St, W1D 5QD

If you want the buzz of Chinatown street food while staying warm and dry, then Leong’s Legend is the place to be! The décor is fresh and simplistic, but that’s only because the main focus is the chefs who work behind a large glass screen to create some amazingly inventive dumpling dishes, noodles and soups.

Delicacies found on the streets of Taipei fill the menu at this restaurant, and the Taiwanese pork buns are a firm favourite with visitors and locals alike. However, you’ll need to be in the know in order to find this place as you can only gain access by knocking on what appears to be a locked door. This little eccentricity only serves to add to the appeal and street food style of the venue.

The best way of getting to Leong’s Legend is via the Tube, so leave our Old Street hotel and head to Old Street Station. Hop on the Central line and you’ll be at your destination in just under half an hour.
