More people than ever are now trying to lead healthier lifestyles by eating better and getting more exercise. London has seen a huge rise in runners and joggers making their way through the city’s streets and greeneries.
Whether you’re trying to keep your New Year’s resolution going or you need to relax and blow off some steam after a stressful business meeting, there are a number of great spots near the M by Montcalm Shoreditch where you can get your heart rate up and clear your head.
New N Road, London
If you’re looking for a place to take a quick morning jog before a day exploring the city, head north towards the small patch of green named Shoreditch Park. The area is popular amongst locals who regularly use the area to play sports, walk dogs and relax in the sun. The park is by no means the biggest in London but it’s a perfect escape from the busy streets and isn’t far from our hotels near Shoreditch Station. Trying to stay active while on holiday can be difficult but with this gem right on your doorstep, you shouldn’t have any trouble.
Moorgate Road, London
If you like the bustle of the city, Moorgate is the perfect route for you during your stay at the M by Montcalm Shoreditch. As you make your way down the central road, you’ll make your way out of Shoreditch and into the heart of the Square Mile. Along your way, you’ll see historic sites like the London Wall, Guildhall and the Bank of England. It can get a little busy during peak times so if you don’t feel like dodging the crowds, it may be a good idea to start your jog early in the morning or towards the evening time.
Grove Road, London
For a bigger patch of greenery, just head a little further from the Shoreditch High Street and make your way to the gorgeous Victoria Park. As one of London’s many Royal Parks, this greenery boasts incredible scenery and plenty of space. Make your way around the edge of the park and see how many laps you can complete or find your own path through the middle of the park as you traverse open grass, trees and quaint water features. After working up an appetite, you’ll find a wonderful little café in the heart of the park that’s perfect for a rest and a snack.
Shoreditch is located just north of the mighty River Thames which means you’ll never be too far away from the famous waterway. Make your way to the water’s edge and proceed to run alongside, keeping an eye out for the many famous landmarks and attractions along the way. A trip to London wouldn’t be complete without exploring the River Thames so this is a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
