When it comes to transport links, London is one of the best connected cities in the world.
The Underground network provides tourists with a simple method of getting around what can be a hugely congested centre. While the Tube is set to open certain routes 24 hours, some bus services already provide this option. It makes sightseeing and indulging in the capital’s nightlife an absolute breeze, knowing that you will be able to get home once you are finished.
London also has a good train network throughout the city providing key links to areas such as Kent, Surrey, Essex and the south coast, not to mention the mainline services to the rest of the UK. This makes travelling around the capital, and further afield, relatively simple and reduces the chances of you being stranded somewhere.
Shoreditch is becoming an increasingly popular place with tourists and natives alike. While this part of east London is home to some of the best and quirky bars and restaurants, it has also become the home of world’s largest corporations thanks to the Shoreditch London Tech City project.
Similar to Silicon Valley in the US, London is looking to attract some of biggest companies the globe has to offer and base themselves in the east of the city. Firms such as Facebook, Last.fm and Google have all so far moved in and with the increased investment has come an uptake in people coming to the area.
A great place to stay in Shoreditch is the M by Montcalm Shoreditch London Tech City. If you are arriving by train, here is all you need to know about getting to the hotel.
Shoreditch High Street Overground Station
Shoreditch High Street Station is among the closest to the hotel. Served by the Overground line on the London Underground it’s just a 15 minute walk from your accommodation. Walking from there is fairly straightforward.
Turn left onto Bethnal Green Road and follow it along until you reach Shoreditch High Street before getting on to Holywell Lane. From here keep on the left along Great Eastern Street before it meets Old Street and the hotel is a few minutes from here.
Hoxton Overground Station
An alternative is to get off at Hoxton Overground Station which is a similar distance away from the hotel.
Leave the station and head south on Geffrye Street before turning right onto Cremer Street. Follow this until you reach Falkirk Street and then turn right onto Hoxton Street before taking a left onto Crondall Street, here you will see Pitfield Street. Eventually come to City Road which is where the hotel is located.
