London is a decidedly vegan-friendly city, with lots of great vegan restaurants and eateries cropping up across the capital. Here’s our pick of some of the very best.

Après Food Co

Clerkenwell

With an ethos rooted in coaxing their patrons into ‘making friends with food’, this Clerkenwell eatery uses plant-based food and clever cooking methods to draw out plenty of flavour. It’s a relaxed and peaceful place, with low-key dishes and décor to match the savoury platters. Wheatgrass shots are also on offer to an increasingly dedicated clientele who have truly bought in to the venue’s style and attitude towards dining. Ideal for trying something new while staying at our suites in Shoreditch.

Andina Shoreditch

This fantastic vegan-friendly restaurant specialises in Peruvian-style dishes made with only the finest seasonal ingredients, helping to keep the menu fresh and always exciting for guests at the M by Montcalm Tech City. There’s some really great and ultra-indulgent delights here, including all the mainstays of vegan cooking which you might expect, served in stylish minimalist surroundings. Owned by the same venue as cured-fish specialist restaurant Ceviche, Andina is helping to make veganism more accessible and appealing for a whole new audience.

The Gate

Marylebone

This vegan and vegetarian restaurant is a must-try for fans of great cuisine, with a strong focus on attention to detail and delicious flavours in each and every dish. Whether already a vegan or hoping to dip your toe into this culinary revolution whilst staying at the M by Montcalm Tech City, this would make for an ideal starting point to help convince even the most avid meat-eater that there is another way. Everything here is understated, right down to the organic wine list – and the excellence of the meals on offer extends all the way from the starters to the delicious dessert menu.

Foodilic Restaurant

King’s Cross

This delightful restaurant started out in Brighton and has now migrated to the bright lights of London, with an organic, vegan-friendly menu which favours clean eating and raw food. Special treats include a selection of amazing cheesecakes which prove conscientious dining needn’t be dull, as well as giving free reign to a very welcome style of quirkiness which suits the venue and its dishes.

Cook Daily

Bethnal Green

Located within the trendy surroundings of Boxpark, comprised of shipping containers, this vegan-friendly fast food joint is incredibly popular with the younger generation of Londoners – and it’s easy to see why. With a delicious menu and speedy service, the venue specialises in healthy, colourful vegan food bowls with plenty of Asian flair. If you’ve ever considered trying vegan food but want to make it quick, this is a great place to start.

Ms Cupcake

Brixton

Ideal for vegans with a sweet tooth, this vegan-friendly bakery helps prove that sweet treats are still possible – not to mention delicious – whilst adhering to vegan principles. The cakes here are as colourful as any you’d find in a non-vegan venue, but customers can shop safe in the knowledge they’re also 100% vegan. Whether enjoying a slice of cake, a cupcake or something else – this makes the ideal quick stop for vegan fare.
