The joys of Hoxton Street Market

London is famous for many things, but something that is equally enjoyed by both tourists and locals alike are the city’s markets.

There are so many to choose from; whether it’s the decadence of Borough Market or the round-the-world offerings at Brixton Market, there’s something for everyone. One in particular that is always a big hit is Hoxton Street Market – we can’t recommend it enough to you as a visitor.

Set in amongst the East part of the city, and part of the very trendy Shoreditch, Hoxton Street Market is open throughout the week – but everyone knows Saturday is the best day. This is a practical market, selling fresh food, clothing and household goods, and it’s where the locals of Hackney do their weekend shopping and bargain hunting. You’ll find it relaxing and perfect for a spot of brunch on the weekend.

Nearby Tube

If you are going to be going exploring, the main Tube station in and around this area is Old Street, which has Northern line services that connect to the rest of the city.

The market is also extremely close to M by Montcalm Shoreditch London Tech City Hotel, as it’s just an 11-minute walk from one to the other. The Old Street Tube station is just a few minutes across the road from the hotel too, making it very well-connected to both travel and leisure links in the area.

Our hotel is a reflection of the modernity and digitisation of Tech City, and is perfect for both corporate travellers and holidaymakers. We have excellent meeting rooms and conference spaces, as well as spas and fitness suites, so you can both work and play hard.

Parking Places

M by Montcalm Shoreditch London Tech City Hotel is ideally located, not only for things to do but also for parking spaces.

Quite a lot of our guests bring cars if they’re only staying for a couple of days on business, and there are lots of options open to you for safe parking.

The top three car parks in the area are the NCP Car Park London Finsbury Square, NCP Great Eastern Street Car Park and the Barbican Centre Car Park, which are each between ten and 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Eating Places

Shoreditch is known for being a great place to find food, whether you’re looking for something familiar like burgers and fries or something completely new, like a cereal cafe.

It’s hard to keep up with all the new places that open up in this area, but some of the best that we like include Dishoom for Indian cuisine, On The Bab for Korean, Hawksmoor for excellent steak and Lyle’s for Michelin-starred food that is highly relaxed.

Nearby attractions

While you’re in the area, you can’t miss a chance to go to see Brick Lane, which is home to some seriously impressive street art.

Head to the Rich Mix Centre for a hub of community arts, film and dance, and don’t forget to look in at Hoxton Restaurant Bar and Grill, which is a bar, restaurant and live music venue all in one.

How to reach us

The best way to get to the hotel is to travel to either Liverpool Street Train Station for National Rail services or arrive by the Tube to Old Street, the latter of which is just three minutes from our front doors.
