Staying close to Shoreditch means you are never stuck for something to do on a night.
Whether it be an art exhibition, concert or club night, there is something happening across the area pretty much every night of the week. Being based at the M by Montcalm Shoreditch London Tech City means you are in the perfect position for the various events going on around you.
So what is going on in the coming weeks? Here is just a brief snapshot.
Benoit Viellefon’s Hot Club Quartet – The Nightjar Bar, 129-131 City Road, EC1V
When: April 24th, 25th and May 22nd
Situated on City Road, just a short walk from the M by Montcalm is the Nightjar Club which is showcasing Benoit Viellefon’s Hot Club Quartet over April and May.
The group bring together European finesse to this American swing ensemble. Inspired by the music that emerged from the Parisian Cafes and nightclubs of the 1920s and 30s it celebrates the music of this era.
The Hot Club pay homage to greats such as Django Reinhardt and American jazz virtuosi such as Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet in a truly encapsulating show.
Benji B & Mark Ronson – XOYO, 32-37 Cowper Street, Shoreditch, EC2A 4AP

A short walk from M by Montcalm is the XOYO club in Shoreditch. Take a left out of the hotel and head towards Old Street Underground station, bear left here and you will reach Cowper Street where the club is located.
On May 16th, XOYO hosts a very special night when musician and producer Mark Ronson will be the guest DJ. The Uptown Funk star, who has worked with some of the biggest names in music, will be spinning some house, funk and disco until the early hours of the morning.
The night kicks off at 21:00 BST and closes at 04:00 BST.
BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Concert: Christian Tetzlaff – LSO St Luke’s, 161 Old Street, Clerkenwell, EC1V

Just a short stroll from the M by Montcalm is LSO St Luke’s which hosts of special concerts from BBC Radio 3. From the hotel, turn left onto Cayton Street and then follow this to Bath Street. Continue down here and then turn right onto Old Street where the venue is located.
May 21st sees the latest in BBC Radio 3’s Lunchtime Concerts and will this time be showcasing the talents of Christian Tetzlaff. The violinist will be performing a selection of classical pieces during the event which kicks off at 13:00 BST.
The best thing about this recital is that it is completely free of charge.
